    It's harder than I thought

I figured keeping my blog up to date would be fairly easy. And yet, I find it quite hard. What should I say? Nothing exciting seems to happen in my life out here on the Island. We got some snow last night, and in Langford it's still snowing. My boyfriend thinks it's the end of the world (can you tell he's only lived on the Island?) and I have a ton of reading to do for an exam on Tuesday. Other than that, there's nothing to report. Not much changes when all you do is study and, well, study. 'Tis the life of a student. Last night there was a rather large party in my building, which kept me up till 12:30, woke me up at 3, 5:30 and 7 and made me a tad bit grumpy and tired today. Other than that, it's same old, same old.

Pretty soon I will write my yearly Christmas letter to everyone. That should be fun. Not sure what I'll say though, besides "Merry Christmas", of course. Anyway, I've been wasting time all morning so I guess I should get on with my work. Hope you all have a good weekend.

    Take care,

    It's been awhile ...

I swear I haven't fallen off of the face of the earth. Honestly. I'm still here, but I don't spend much time on this blog anymore. Matter of fact, none of my blogs get much attention these days. School's been pretty busy, as has life, and these frivolous procrastination tools have, well, been ignored. But, I'm on here now, and no doubt you've guessed why: I'm putting some form of painful school-related activity off for as long as possible. What is it this time? My Italian assignment. A two page paper on how medieval elements have been readapted and added to modern fashions. Exciting, I know. Can you see why I don't want to get at it? It also doesn't help that my prof. is all over the place in this class: it'd be nice if she could pick a course of action and stick with it. But, enough of my rambling. The hope is to someday pick one of my blogs to keep updated regularily so that people can actually figure out what's going on in my life. I don't send near enough emails anymore and it's starting to annoy some people, so soon I will get myself onto a regular (or semi-regular) blog-updating schedule. So, stay tuned for further posts to tell you if this blog or my other one, chiacchieralibera.blogspot.com will be the blog of choice.

    Till next time, Snuffles

    GOODBYE

    Close your eyes
    and ill close mine
    imagine us together
    just this one time...

    your hands so gently
brush my hair from my face
    your lips and mine
    in a sweet embrace...

    a kiss that hurts
    yet feels so right
    your arms around me
    your grip so tight...

    my nails drag slowly
    across you skin
    i pull you closer
    leading you in...

    wanting you more
    with every thrust
    feeling the love
    but consumed by the lust...

    feeling the heat
    we created together
    a moment so perfect
    but one that will never...

    exist in this lifetime
    but only in dreams
    its time to let go
    as hard as it seems...

so I kiss you once more
a tear falls from my eye
    I take a deep breath
    and I whisper goodbye...

    goodbye

    Darwin Fish

Well I finally learned what a Darwin Fish was today. Didn't know they were so popular. Seeing it got me to thinking how sad it is that so many people out there insist on bashing other people's ideas and beliefs. Many of the sites I looked at either liked the fish idea or didn't. Why can't we just get along and accept each other for our differences? You know the world would be a lot better place if we did.

Anyway, I don't know what else to say. I'm going to include a picture of the Darwin Fish below, so all you other people out there who were like me and didn't know what it was now know. Ciao.

    An Italian Blog! Finally!

    Hey Everyone!

Guess what I found? An Italian MSN blog! I was searching for a song on the net and stumbled across it. It will definately help me with my Italian.  Not that there's many of you out there who'd care (or can speak Italian) but here's the web address for "Dreams are Wishes" http://tyne89.spaces.live.com/default.aspx?_c02_owner=1 . Ciao!

    Playing with HTML

    Hey Everyone!

I'm tying to work in HTML here, instead of display mode. I want to paste a link in here, but I'm not sure if it's going to work! It's another IMVU one (just because I like it so much!). Let me know if it works!!! IMVU - The World's Greatest 3D Chat Snuffles

    IMVU

So I know not a lot of people like those big chat room deals, but this IMVU thing is pretty neat. It's good fun when you talk with people you know and having to talk to a few random people at the beginning is totally worth it. If you're interested, please check it out. If not, carry on!

And now for something completely different...

Ah yes Monte Python you are the best.  Hello again everyone and how are all of you? I'm pretty good and back to the grinde stone again. This year at uni appears to offer more headaches and stomach cramps, but I'm ready for it all. My building's much quieter this year and I've already "bonded", if you will, with some of the guys. Well ok, bonded is a bit of an overstatement, but they're really the only ones who are attempting to get to know me. I wonder why ...

But anyway, to the purpose of this blog. I have installed Adobe Photoshop on my computer and I'm looking forward to playing around with it. so guess what? You get to look at all my sad attempts at computer generated art. I know I know, you're all excited about it, but don't pee your pants or anything. I just want to do something different and relaxing with my time, so I think doing something creative would be a good idea. And besides, the definition of art is always changing. I mean, someone can draw three stripes of color on a canvas, call it "Tranquility" and get millions for it. So why can't I do something wacky and fun too? I suppose I won't get paid, but that's not the point. I want to try expressing myself in a non-academic fashion, so I'm going to use art as my medium. I hope you all enjoy (and by that I mean, get a good laugh out of my work or some inspiration (if you're lucky) from my own).

Well, I have to get back to work, but do check back regularily to see if I've added some new masterpieces to my collection. Take care!

    How to say no politely

    Well hello again everyone!

I was just browsing the internet when I came across these amusing little ways to say "no" to a guy. I think they're meant to be used in a bar setting, though I guess you could adapt them to any situation. So for any girls out there you are in need of a quick and polite way out of having to give your phone number, take a look!

    Cheers!

5 Fun Ways To Reject A Man Kindly
Just For Her in The Soko

Being asked out is always flattering. The rejection of course, is never an easy task. Esther Zsoldos writes.

Is there really a polite way to tell a guy you would rather jump off a cliff than give him your phone number? Rejection is tough to deal with, but so is figuring out a way to reject a man without hurting his feelings.

The entire concept of declaring interest in someone by asking them out places you in a vulnerable position – your heart on the line and your dignity at stake. If you truly care about how your words and actions may affect your pursuer’s self confidence, your plan of rejection should include both creativity and quick thinking.

The next time you're in a social setting and a guy who doesn't interest you asks for your number, keep the following suggestions in mind.

    'I Have a Boyfriend'
quick, easy and straight to the point

Okay, so maybe you don’t have a boyfriend. Regardless of this minor detail, if a guy asks for your number and you give this reply, he is more likely to leave with his dignity and self-confidence. In his mind he will think, “well if she was single I bet I would have had a shot.”

Is this lying? It sure is! But if the male in question is a complete stranger who you most likely will never see again, what is the point of hurting his feelings? It’s a better option than saying, “dream on, as if I’d give you a chance.” There is no need to be snappy or sassy. In addition, if he thinks you have a boyfriend he is more likely to leave you alone and not become a stalker, especially if you also mention your boyfriend is 6 foot 4 and on a football team.

If you tell him you are simply not interested, he may become motivated to win your heart as the night goes on – not a good idea. Having a male friend with you to act as a boyfriend is also helpful in this scenario .

    Answer in a Different Language
cut off all lines of communication

If he understands the ancient dialect of Taiwanese you respond with, then you might want to rethink giving him your number. That’s just impressive. However, chances are you’ll receive a look as empty and unresponsive as the beer bottle in his hand. After all, communication is the tool that makes a relationship work. I guess if you can’t communicate, it would have never worked out anyways.

Answering in a foreign accent that he can’t understand will also work. Of course, these methods will only work for women who can act. It helps if you know you’ll never see the man again, as well.

Say 'No' – Followed by Something Nice
mix some good with the bad

You have to give a guy a little credit if he musters up the courage to approach you and ask for your number. Rather than saying, “I’m sorry I’m not interested,” you could try saying “I’m sorry I’m not interested but with eyes like those you shouldn’t have a problem finding the right girl.” Maybe for a split second he was disappointed but with a compliment following rejection, at least he will believe he still has charm.

Be careful not to overdo a compliment. This could lead to flirting and unintentional mixed signals, which should be avoided.

    'I’m a Lesbian'
give him a story to tell for the rest of his life

If you really want to have some fun with the rejection, give this a try. He will enjoy this response and probably be even happier with it than if you had given him your phone number. Just recite the line, grab a girlfriend’s hand, and walk away. He may not have left the bar with your number, but trust me he will sleep well that night.

Sometimes men have such huge egos that they can’t comprehend the reason you are saying 'no' has anything to do with them. Rather than ruining his pride let him believe you are not interested in anything a man has to offer – regardless of the size.

    _______________________________
    quick and painless

Ladies, please take into consideration how you reject a guy because a similar response could be reciprocated if you decide to approach a man for his number. Don’t think that just because a guy expresses interest that you have any right to make him feel bad about himself.

Remember to give guys a chance; everyone knows it’s hard to find a match. Giving your number to someone you ordinarily wouldn’t give a second glance to could result in true love – or at least some nice jewelry.

    OoOOOOOooOoooo....fancy..

Well hello there everyone! How are all of you? I'm quite dandy actually. Why do you ask? Because today I got my new calendar for school and I've almost finished picking out my courses. Hurray! I'm so pumped to go back to school!! Yes I know, I should like a nerd, but I really enjoy school now because I get to take what I want when I want. I also start working tomorrow but I'm actually kinda nervous about that because I'm not sure how well I'll do during my training: wish me luck!

So I guess the real purpose of this blog is to tell you my amazement and excitement at seeing a new form for updated spaces and a new version of the photo album. I love the map idea and I like the new layout for the photos. I like the fact that MSN keeps changing things: it keeps me on my toes! Anyway, I gotta get going. Take care everyone!!

    Well La Dee Da...

Ciao i miei amici!! Come va? Sono bene, grazie. Mi dispiace per non scrivo ma sono molto pigro.   Yes I've been lazy folks since I got home from university, but now I'm actually starting to do stuff.... like move and clean things. I have to do some babysitting this weekend, which spells headaches and arguments for me. Oh well, I'll survive.  So I just thought I'd check in again with all of you. I'm currently waiting for my calendar to come so I can pick courses for next year. I really hope it comes today. WEll, I guess I'd better go.... Kingdom Hearts II is calling!! Take care!!

    *sigh*

Well I'm back....to this space that is. I'm trying to procrastinate, though I really should be reviewing for my night course seminar. Oh well, whatcha gonna do? Anyway, I've lately been thinking about life (a scary thought I know) and how there must be some force controlling it. I dont' know what, God, fate, take your pick, but something has planned my life already and I'm just here for the ride. Now, why have I been thinking about this, you may ask? Well, it all started the other day when I was contemplating why I was even here, and what was the point of all my courses. I was looking at job opportunities and I realized that I would spend the rest of my life reading and writing papers that just a  handful of people care about. I was also wondering why everytime I like someone, they never like me back. Ever. It's very depressing actually. I've been wondering if there actually is someone out there for me, or if I'm just meant to be alone. I wish someone could answer that question for me, and predict the truth of the matter, and not just say "well of course there's someone out there for you'. Really? Well where? It jsut seems like my life's a waste of time! That's what I want to know and....ugh....I'm just rambling. Please excuss me, I'm way to tired. Those late nighters and I do not get along. I should go get some sleep..... Ciao....

so what is love .. its not just the hugs and kisses...
    the I love you`s & the I miss you`s ..
but its about the butterflies you get.
The chills that hit every part of your back when you just think about that person ..
its how you care so much even when they're
standing right next to that one person
you can't stand & you just wanna rip their head off.
Its when its so hard to say goodbye a tear rolls
down your cheek when they turn away.
Its how you would do anything just to be around that person for just a minute more.
Its how you get shivers when they touch you,
its how you would dodge a bullet for them or
take a punch in the face. Its how you would push them out of the way
if you knew they were gunna get hurt .
Its how you protect their heart with yours..
Its how cold you get when they leave..
How they make your heart beat faster and slower at the same time.
How lonely you feel when you havent seen or heard from them for only an hour.
    Its how completely lost
you feel when you two decide to become just friends.
Its how broken you feel after, and how much you just wanna cry...
Its the little things that make your heart beat so fast
you think its gunna jump out of your chest..
Its your heart beating for that special moment with that special someone.
    that's ...love

I was horrified when I read this article today. I don't understand why someone would murder their own children. I don't if this is coincidence of not, but all of her children have names from the Bible. I figured she must have been religious, and if that's the case, how could she even think of taking the lives of her 5 children? They were defenseless and innocent human beings. I hope that she is found guilty; no one like that should be allowed to walk the streets free.
